Where Are They Now?

Posted on November 1, 2009 by adminNo Comments

My lovely wife and fellow hockey fan and I were at the Wild game Friday night, new Wild forward Chuck Kobasew (wears #12) skated by and my wife asked “What ever happened to Matt Johnson?” (who was the first Wild player to wear #12). I had no idea, since the current enforcer Derek Boogaard came on the scene, I forgot all about Johnson, I told her though that would be a great idea for a new column. So a new column is born … “Where Are They Now?”

The new colulumn will be a look back at the inaugural season roster of the Minnesota Wild and find out what they are doing now, what their favorite memory about that season was. Tracking these guys down isn’t as easy as one might think, they can be found coaching obscure junior hockey teams in Canada to running hockey camp’s in Slovakia. So stay tuned!

Some of the former Wild players we will take a look at are:

Trade Deadline Building Blocks;
Sean O’Donnell
Scott Pellerin
Curtis Leschyshyn

Former Goalies;
Manny Fernandez
Jamie McLennan

Fan Favorites;
Wes Walz
Antti Laaksonen
Lubomir Sekeras
Stacy Roest
